Tunnel Mountain Trailer contains 321 campsites for trailers and RV's with full services. Amenities for all sites include picnic tables, fire pits, fire wood, camp kitchens, hot showers, flush toilets, disability access, sani dumps and interpretive programs. During peak summer season over 1100 sites can fill creating a small town/village.

These campgrounds make a good base camp if you want to spend a few days exploring Banff. Public transit provides 5 minute bus rides into Banff eliminating having to drive and find parking. There are a few small hikes located near the campgrounds and a 3.5K trail leading into Banff.

A nice evening walk to the Hoodoos along the Bow Valley offers outstanding views of Mt. Rundle's north face and the Bow River below. The trail is nicely groomed but very crowded. If you want to get away from the crowds you can take a short drive to Lake Minnewanka and hike the west side trail. This trail loops around the shores of Lake Minnewanka all the way to it's north east end 30kms away. Night skies here rank # 4-5 on the Bortle Scale. See the official web site link below for fees, opening and closing dates.
